Big Business - game discussion

Has anyone been able to figure out how this Valentines event works? I keep swapping different love letters from different people but can't seem to figure out where that ends up. None of my citizens are giving me any of the items needed to build the three required buildings. All the citizens are offering is the card swap. Am I missing something?

EDIT: Ok I think I figured part of it out at least. Looks like we get a card from Alex then trade it for a card from Emma which trades for a card from John which finally trades for a Love Arrow. And we need 300 of these arrows to build the Post Office. What. The. Heck?! This will take like 12787282893827823 years to complete.

That is nuts!

There are more direct routes. I find closing the app and restarting gives me more options. You should be able to collect a card and change for arrow without any other exchanges in between. I only figured it out towards the end of the event last year so hope it helps some of you this time round

It's not that bad once you do it for a little while. Just look at the "equation". If you've got a green check than you're good to go. If it's a minus sign you've got to go track down that card. The only tough thing is remembering where the first card is when you find the one you need.

I think I figured out a decent strategy. Some of the citizens offer direct "people cards." Try to hold out for those to save one move. People cards can then be exchanged for an arrow in either one move or two at most. Regardless, this is going to take a whole lot of time and unless the next two steps are easier, I can't see myself finishing this task. I certainly cannot be playing this game every waking hour trying to find the correct combination to get the part needed.

This is the game I started Big Business with last year. It was so frustrating I almost gave up a few days in. Later tasks of the same sort (the Thanksgiving one, for instance) don't seem anywhere near as annoying as this one, for some reason. The folk at GI sure know how to charm us on valentine's day, eh?

If I recall rightly, stages two and three are exactly the same, just with different gifts (angels and love hearts). It does take forever, I didn't get past the Valentine's Day post office last year; what's worse is that my exisiting Valentine's post office no longer even counts, so I will now have to use up another administrative building slot in order to build something I already have (or pay to demolish the old one).

The only piece of advice I have is to let your energy accumulate to 25 each time, and then check who's offering what, and click selectively and strategically.

I have been collecting the beginning cards, exp to John/Alex/Emma, then find the arrow to see who it needs. If it is someone I don't have close out game and go back and find the arrow. Ten I find the exp card and start over. It is annoying but saves your energy.

Good advice guys. That's what I'm doing too. Looks like frustration and patience are going to be the two words thrown around most with this event.

This is the first time I have done the Valentine event but remember reading about it on earlier posts on this blog. It gave the same advice so this is also what I am doing. However I did notice that it takes 2 energies when you find the arrow card. the most you will get per 25 energy is 9 arrows. So it will take at least a full day ( with sleep ) to get the 100 for the post office. If the other two buildings r the same we should be able to complete event in the time allotted.

I haven't been able to get a heart or card in 5 hours. It's the same items floating around with no results. Back to my other games.

Have you tried force closing the game and going back in? Look for the exp to John/Alex/Emma/Kate, pick that up then look for the one with an arrow. If you don't have the right one in stock then force close the game and reopen. This is how I have worked mine all day with good results.
