Bluetooth

Anyone else had problems connecting their ipad to phones ? I thought bluetooth was universal. I cant connect the sony erricson xperia 10

There is a problem with doing this - particularly on the iPad1. The Bluetooth standard comprises a number of 'Profiles', one of which is for 'phone tethering. The iPad1 did not support this profile. However, it appears that either the upgrade to iOS or the iPad2 itself is now able to Bluetooth tether - perhaps other members would care to comment on their experiences?

The iPad Bluetooth works just fine with Bluetooth keyboards and Bluetooth stereo headsets and audio systems. I don't recall seeing any advertising suggesting that Bluetooth tethering was possible.
