Calendar syncs with iPhone?

Can anyone advise wether you can sync the calendar on the iPad with iPhones wirelessly?

For example, if I put a birthday into the calendar, how do I get it to send this info to my iPhone calendar as well?

Sync both the iPhone and iPad (and yourr laptop, desktop etc if,you,want) tthrough iCloud. Select which calendars you want to sync, and you never have to think about it again!

using iCloud or exchange. Both devices must be setup either one.
