Can't update ipad2 to ios5

I connected my iPad to pc but didn't get the iOs5 update....how can I update? My pc was showing it was downloading a new software but I can't tell there is anything different and it took forever to finish

you can tell which ios your ipad has installed in it's 'settings' app. also, tried updating wirelessly directly to your ipad?

You need to update iTunes first before ios5 update, check this first , then feed back for more help if required.
