I use a cut/paste system for my passwords and the paste function seems to be disabled for the Apple ID dialog login at the app store. Is there a way to restore this functionality?

With regard to your question, I'd try restarting and/or resetting your iPad to see if that will take care of it.
  • Restart the iPad: Press and hold down the Home button on the front of the iPad for few seconds until the red slider appears, slide this across to shut the iPad down. Restart the iPad by pressing the power button on the top until the Apple logo appears.
  • Reset the iPad: if restarting the iPad didn't work then you will need to reset the iPad. You can do this by pressing the Home button and the Sleep/wake button on the top the iPad's case and holding them down together for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo. The iPad should then reset itself. The boot up process will take longer than the restart.
BTW, I moved your post to the iPad Help area where you’re likely to get a better response to your question.

Welcome again and enjoy!

After more testing I'm beginning to think that the problem is in Evernote. It shows up on both the iPad and the iPhone so it is not a hardware problem.

Anything is possible of course. Do you have your Evernote files backed up (Dropbox)? If so, try deleting the app completely and see how things go. You can always re-add it later. Deleting and re-installing apps has resolved problems for others as well. First I've heard that Evernote might be problematic, but, hey...it happens!

I'd still try resetting the iPad if you haven't already though...that can take care of most issues.

Best of luck and let us know how it goes!
