The apple tv will be interesting to see
Don't give up!! Next time, politely ask to speak to the Manager. So far, we've found most all Members get their iPads replaced - so keep on trying.

kaykaysmom said:My two year old accidentally dropped my month old iPad 2 on the tile floor last night. It had the smart cover on but fell off on impact. The entire front is a spiderweb. It impacted on the left corner. I immediately googled broken iPad screen (after the initial tears had stopped lol) and found this thread. I scheduled an appointment online at the genius bar in Shadyside (Pittsburgh). Has anyone had dealings with this store and know if they have the one time replacement policy?
I received my iPad as a gift and I absolutely love it. My daughter plays educational games on it and watches Netflix and youTube. At 2 and a half it's amazing to watch her use it. I
will be devastated if they don't replace it after reading all of the stories on here. Wish me luck! My appt is at 1:20 this afternoon.
kaykaysmom said:They replaced it for free! At first he said it would be $299 to replace it, then he said let me go in the back to make sure we have one and we will go from there. When he came back out he said, do you want the good news or the bad news. I of course said bad news. The bad news was that he couldn't transfer my data, but the good news was they would replace it for free, this one time. I just need to update this one to iOs5 and get my stuff from iCloud. I'm loving Apple right now
DisappointedAppleFan said:I had no luck. Dropped the IPad Thursday and the screen cracked badly. Took it into the store, and both the person at the genius bar and the manager said I had to pay $419. I specifically pointed out this thread and others, but they refused to do anything more. I was very disappointed and angry at the disparate treatment, though I was careful to remain polite at the store.
Got home and received an e-mail from Apple asking for feedback on my genius bar visit. In my response, I explained what happened. I received a call. Initially, I was excited that maybe the person on the phone would help, but no such luck. After talking for a while, she said they gave a strict policy of not replacing iPads for accidental damage. I told her that what I was seeing online made that difficult to understand, and she said the policy had changed a while ago. Now that I am seeing that someone else got a free replacement today (congratulations kaykaysmom!), it now just looks like they are lying to me. Very disappointing. I hope others continue to have better luck than I did.
