What's new

Creating an album of photos and prints

Hi All, I've just recently bought the new Ipad 3 and it's way above my head, seeing as how I'm the complete negation of all things technology-related. Seriously, have only ever used PC. My question is, what's the best way of creating a personal album of photos and prints that I have either stored on PC (in jpg or gif format) or that I can find on Internet sites? If you're wondering why on earth I bought myself such a sophisticated gadget it's because I'm hoping it will be helpful to me in my work as a tour guide.
Any help (simple language only, please) would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

Have a look at this link for syncing your photos to your iPad from your PC/Mac
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
When you find an image on the Internet just long press it and you will get a popup to Save Image, press this and the image will be saved to your Camera Roll. Once you have a few photos and want to make an album go to your photo app.
In the photo app, along the top you will see all the different headings, press albums, once the page loads press Edit which is top right, then you will see New Album load on the top left, press this and you can name your album. Once you name it all your photos will appear and just go through and select which photos you want in the album. Please be aware that photos you input in albums are only a shortcut to your camera roll, like a duplicate and all your photos will still be in your camera roll. Sorry but you can't delete it from your camera roll without also deleting from your album. I hope this helps you.

2 very informative threads from which you will learn many tips and shortcuts for the IPad.

Hi Leelai,
Many thanks for the great tips! I have already started doing as you suggested and, in spite of myself, have managed to get started on some photos. May yet come back on the subject with more silly questions.
Bye for now.
