Disabling app purchases on a single device when multiple devices share the same ID

My son uses my iPad to download apps. More times than not he chooses apps which cost. I find out about it later. Can I disable app purchases? Disabling "in app purchases" is not the solution as this still allows you to purchase the app in the first place.

I have multiple devices which share the same apple ID. Can I disable app purchases on the iPad but retain it on the iPod touch and iPhone which use the same apple ID?

Yes. Go to Settings/Restrictions/enable Restrictions/Installing Apps.

DO NOT FORGET YOUR PASSWORD.
