Only in Canada eh?

I thought it was brewed in the UK? Gabriel, have you tried it?

Our Provincial alcohol retailer, the LCBO is pushing it. Liquor CONTROL Board of Ontario. When I came here in the 60’s you had to fill out a form to buy alcohol, name, address, age, when was the last time you purchased, what did you purchase, what you want to purchase now. The store was bare except for the forms and the little desk thingies to fill them out. You gave the form to the guy and he went out back to get your order which he gave to you in a plain brown bag. Oh those were the days. :D

Liquor stores in Saskatchewan used to be like that. There were long counters with catalogues where you made your selection. It was brought to you, then you paid for it.

And the bars had an entrance for men and a separate one for 'Women and Escorts only' , you could only have one glass in front of you, they only sold ice cold lager by the glass, you sat near the door of the room you were in so the waiter would drop your table's beer, then serve the other tables while you chugged your beer so you could get another before he left because you had no idea when he would come back. The pain that you got in the forehead is memorable. We've come a long way baby! :)

So that's why Santa slowed on his deliveries. He had to sign before he swigged his free toddy at each drop! :D

And Mrs. Claus was asking why he smelled of bananas when he got back to the North Pole.

I've started my annual Xmas film pilgrimage. I've watched The Muppet Family Christmas
The Grinch
Jim Carrey A Christmas Carol
And tonight we watched Love Actually.
I loved the part where Hugh Grant's Prime Minister dances to Jump for your love by The Pointer Sisters.
I've bought some presents for my girls and hubby. 26 presents to go. I might put the rope lights up outside and the blue icicles next weekend. No time like the present.

Wow.....I'm so glad you have reawakened your thread Hayley! I was only thinking of it yesterday! ;)

I did some shopping last night and bought a few things.....mostly stocking fillers but I did get 3 presents for family. I'm always so pleased when I finally find something I know they will love.

I'll be getting out all the decorations this weekend and up will go the tree ready for December 1st when the Angel will go on. Gosh, can't remember whose turn it is to top the tree.

Have fun watching your Christmas movies.....I always enjoy reading your film posts as they jog my memory and we then watch some of them. We don't have as many as you though! :)

Good list, have the Grinch and love it. I also have a copy of Frosty the Snowman, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, White Christmas (with Vera-Ellen, Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and Rosemary Clooney) and a guilty pleasure - "The Ref" to watch for Christmas (my annual movie-fest)

How about "A Charlie Brown Christmas", I used to watch it every Christmas on TV when I was a kid.

Wow...Christmas! Seems like yesterday we were talking all about the holiday festivities! We have our Christmas tree brought up. We use to get real trees, but there's so much maintenance that is more hassle then it's worth.

We went to a store called Bronner's in Frankenmuth, Michigan where it's Christmas all year around. We bought several ornaments for this year including one that we had our names and the year painted on it. I'll post some pics in a second once I get onto the app. Anyways, I have a few gifts purchased that's all. Still have to put my thinking cap on for the teens!:)

Not very good pics, but the first is the entrance into Bronner's...

The second one is inside....

Bronner's was a regular stop for us when we lived in Alberta. On trips home we'd cut south at The Sault, take I - 75 to Port Huron.

Ahhhh. That Bronners sounds like heaven to me. You are so right, Christmas comes round so quickly. It's getting colder over here and I'm running late for school, I will catch you all later!
