What's new

Food anyone?

No, really. Chuck, or chook, is Aussie slang for chicken. My, erm, source comes from Kalgoorlie, which is not in your neck of the woods, but I won't be drawn further on his identity. This is a respectable forum, after all.

Really...never heard of that one....although of course I've heard of Cilla Black.

I see you've been mighty busy lately Richard with your visitors and showing them the sights. I've been reading up on all your adventures although I've been quite busy elsewhere.

What a wonderful tour guide you are for anyone visiting! I hope you've gotten some rest along the way!

Thank you Leelai. Yes, Tim and I slowed down on the golf course a couple of times. Yesterday, I managed to get a couple of half decent shots in and roughly in the right direction! The course is very hilly, so we had a good work out into the bargain :)

We do call them chooks, never heard of chuck, except for steaks. Is chooks an Aussie term? I would have thought everyone would call them that!

Kalgoorlie, one of the first gold mining towns, that's on the other side of Oz from me. But I'd say they would have lots of colourful slang originating from there.

Biscuits, gravy...all sounds really delish right now for breakfast right now. :)

We just had dinner!....steaks, snags, slaw, potatoes in jackets, salad and hot crusty bread.

I gotta try those biscuits one day!

That dinner sounds good to even have for breakfast!!

So you say potatoes on jackets also? So does Gabe and ivy. What are snags!

I will have to send you some of our biscuits, especially the one with cheddar cheese bits in it!

Snags are sausages....

Maybe potatoes in jackets is an English saying handed down....don't know, have always said it though.

Would love some biscuits....cheddar cheese bits sounds very good!

I took a step toward healthier living today by having a cheese and potato chip sandwich on "9" grain bread.

We just use the Pilsbury canned dough.
Potatoes in jackets, love the saying.
Sounds like you had a delicious dinner! Mmm!
