What's new

Food anyone?

Never had carrot-ginger soup, but sounds good. Is the ginger really strong in it though, KayKayKay?

Depends on who's making it. My husband did, so yes, lol. Of course, he goes heavy on raw garlic in the hummus, too. So now I can walk around, breathing on things and setting them on fire.

You're so lucky to have a husband that cooks frequently. On the rare occassion my husband does, I savor every moment!!

You're just a walking fire breathing dragon now, KayKayKay. Love garlic, bring it on in any dish!!

Love garlic, especially roasted garlic. I could eat a trough of it.

Love men who cook, too. Even when my husband gives me Godzilla breath.

Whenever there's roasted garlic or garlic whatever, my husband I always make it a point to both eat it so we can share Godzilla breath together!! LOL! :)

I tried roasting garlic once. It was a disaster - it shrank and didn't taste so good! Now, give me roast onions anytime! :D

My wife won't go near the barbecue since I took up playing around on there. Garlic plays a huge rôle in my cooking. Soak it in olive oil, wrap it in aluminum foil, and dump it on the barbie. Works a treat, and caramelizes nicely too.

They sell these terra cotta garlic roaster / baker things for a few bucks. You take a whole head of garlic, brush with olive oil and bake in the roaster / baker, and it keeps moist. At least that's how I've seen it done, lol.

My husband does it occasionally, when he's baking something else, because he doesn't want to get the oven going just for the garlic. Most times, we buy it already roasted at yuppie markets by weight. At our neighborhood markets, they sell them along with other foods that are already prepped for eating / takeout.

Yum having six-herb linguine tomorrow night. It uses sage, thyme, oregano, basil, rosemary, parsley, chives... Mm, mm! Cant wait! Here's a link for the recipe. Six-Herb Linguine Recipe - Good Housekeeping

Sounds good. I never know what I'm going to have from one meal to the next. My husband cooks and, when we go out to dinner, we often decide as we get into the car and have to decide which direction to point it toward, lol.

Today, we had a rich, hearty vegetable soup and a salad that actually tasted good. (I'm not much of a vegetable person. I consider candy corn a vegetable.)
