Food anyone?

I'm about to prepare some Wesh lamb rack cutlets. Season with salt, pepper, garlic and rosemary. Then bake in the oven for 30 minutes, rather than grill them.

I'm microwaving 2 potatoes which will be finished in the oven, alongside the lamb.

We have lentils, which my wife cooked 2 days ago, ad an accompaniment :)

We had the same last night for dinner too Richard. I put hot English mustard on ours first then the garlic and rosemary with salt and pepper.

And I also microwave my potatoes first and then roast them! They come out all nice and crunchy but soft in the middle! The best!

We had roasted sweet potatoes, pumpkin, onions too and beans on the side. Deelish. ;)

It was....making me hungry again just thinking of it...

I'm making a pavlova now to take to a friends tomorrow....it's football grand final weekend here!

I was at my mom and day's visiting for lunch and she made a bittermelon stir fry with Chinese barbecue ribs and jasmine rice. Oh, was so delicious and especially good when eating mom's home cooked meals!

Leelai, is pavlova a dessert?

Earlier today, I was eating a sandwich, and I saw something, and I was like: is that smoke ash??? And I looked again and I saw wings, and it turned out to be a dead gnat (a.k.a. Fruit fly) and I was like: EWWWWW!!! And I spit the sandwich out and washed my mouth out twice.

Bittermelon is a vegetable that is very popular in the Asian culture. My dad actually grew his own for seeds he saved from bittermelon purchased here.

Here is how it grows and looks. The dish my mom made today was straight from my dad's garden!

I've seen that at a specialty produce store near me. Didn't know it was called bitter melon.

Yes, they come in different sizes too and a little bit more rigid. We like the bigger ones, since it has a more mild flavor. :)

Interesting, Bill is a cook and normally is familiar with all these unusual things. I can test and see if he has heard of this.

Today is Friday, which at our house means BBQ night, and it was quite yummy!

Yes, it's a really atypical vegetable that people are used to. Would be interesting to see if if your husband(?) knows of this.

BYW...BBQ sounds delicious too! :)
