Chocolate frosting on a Christmas pudding! People have been deported from the UK for crimes like that!

It used to be tradition when I was young to hide a sixpence in the pudding......at least I think it was tradition, it could have just been my parents trying to kill me off!

Yes, what a terrible thing to happen to those chefs, I just caught it on the news whilst I was driving home.

Yes, I remember that tradition too. I think my mum used to sneak a sixpence into my brother's and my servings when we were not looking ;)

I loved the brandy and raisin sauce which was served with the pudding. The whole dish was absolutely scrumptious. :lick lips:

Yes...chocolate frosting! You should try it, it is delicious to have that sweetness with it.

Wow Gab.....we still put sixpences and threepences in our puddings......whoever finds it gets to keep it for the year for good luck! We were able to keep them once, but they are becoming too scarce....we all had bracelets made with our coins....they are a wonderful keepsake!

My mother in law, who is Cypriot still follows the tradition with a New Years Day Cake where they bake in a 1 or 2 dollar coin.....although wrapped in foil, just in case it does poison us. ;)

Some great ideas for Xmas guys. Love that little collection Gab. I've already made the Xmas pudding and I'm waiting for hubby to come home to put the Xmas cake in. Hoping to persuade him to bake some mince pies too. He loves doing Xmas stuff with me and the kids although it tends to be just us these days.

Oh my, I keep the chocolate frosting for the Yule log......I can't ever get enough of that if the frosting is thick enough......I'll take the end piece please!

I started looking and found several recipes for turkey with chocolate sauce. How about that for Christmas dinner!

Errr! Yugh! Now that's just not right! I don't mind mixing things up but choc and turkey? Shiver. I've mixed the dried fruit mix dripping in brandy for Xmas cake. It smells yummy. Mulled wine sounds delicious right now.

So selfish. We have to learn to share, children. I'll have a middle slice. And one of those mince pies, Gab. Gab? Gab? Darn, where did he hide to?

I'm going to try the pine sugar mince pies while watching the F1 qualifying today. The other Heston mince pies were truly amazing so I have high hopes!
