What's new

Food anyone?

We had Chicken Kiev, roasted potatoes, pumpkin, sweet potatoes and onions. Also had beans and broccolini in butter and garlic with Parmesan cheese sprinkles.

Was very nice!

Stuffed chicken

One night I had all deserts - huge double layer strawberry shortcake, creme brûlée, lemon cake and a milkshake (chocolate). I waddled back to the hotel.

I had roast beef, onion, cabbage, carrots, roast potatoes and gravy. With natural yoghurt and honey for pudding. Yum.

When I lived in Hawaii (stayed with my sister for a while) I used to get takeout (takeaway) from Soon's Korean BBQ just up off of Salt Lake. I think it was on Lilikoi and it was pretty close to the golf course. My introduction to Korean food and I still have cravings now and again. I'll bet dinner was great tonight!

Dinner was good -- it's a place frequented by Koreans.

I don't remember having any Korean food in Hawaii, where I've also spent some time, for business and pleasure. From the Big Island, I miss plate lunches from Rainbow Drive-In and malasadas from Leonard's.

I turned down a job on the Big Island, but that was one of the best job interviews I've ever had. They wined and dined me, then cut me loose to explore, hoping I'd want to stay. I did eat and drink a lot at their expense, lol.

I always wanted to go to the big island. They have a restaurant that serves steak and veggies that are local grown. I've never had Kobe Beef, but this is supposed to rival it.

The big island also has Kona coffee, the only coffee grown commercially in the United States.

I just reread my post and realized I typo'd: Rainbow Drive-In and Leonard's are on Oahu, of course.

I've only been to the Big Island, Oahu and Maui. I find them pleasant, but I like more variety and freedom to roam in the mainland. The food is good, though. I had some ceviche on Maui that I've yet to taste as good anywhere else, and I'm not even a seafood fan.
