What's new

Food anyone?

I've spent a couple of weeks building the perfect tuna sandwich. And, I'm happy to say, I have arrived at a recipe that I am quite happy with.

Ingredients:
1 small can of tuna in water
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of dill relish
1 teaspoon of dijon mustard
1 tablespoon of minced red onion
1 tablespoon of minced celery
1 tablespoon of chopped parsley
1 dash of black pepper
2 slices of cheddar cheese
4 slices of wheat bread

Directions:
1. Drain and flake the tuna.
2. Add lemon juice, olive oil, dill relish, dijon mustard, red onion, celery, parsley and black pepper to the tuna and mix.
3. Spread the mixture over a slice of bread.
4. Top with a slice of cheese, close sandwich, and toast in a toaster oven until the bread is toasted.

This recipe produces a tuna sandwich that you won't want to finish.. because it will be gone and you'll be sad :)

No mayo--just a touch...and what about a touch of light sour cream to it? I also like to top mine off with fresh sliced Hungarian peppers--gives it a zing!! :)

That does sound really good! Love tuna sandwiches made with fresh bread!

I like my tuna in olive oil, mayo must be Praise mayonnaise, black pepper, Spanish onion, lettuce and beetroot! Deelish!

Beet root? That's a different one, but sure does sound good on it also!

Try my recipe and add a hard boiled egg.. let us know how it turns out :) Tuna is very healthy.

That's a great recipe Ardchoille. We are about to make some filled brown rolls for today's excursion to London. A walk around St James park, Parliament Square etc.

We don't have tuna at present, but can use ham along with some of your ingredients. We must try an untoasted version of the sandwich for picnics. :)
