Thanks. I must give credit. I saw it as a new t-shirt design from Snorg Tees, I think.

I thought it was clever.

Going to start downloading recipes and start cooking again, too much fast food, need to start eating healthy again

We are cooking from scratch a lot more and enjoying learning about tasty food.

My wife didn't realise that I can fry eggs!

Are there any regional foods threads? Would this thread do the trick?

What set me thinking is that I found a specialist butcher who makes a huge range of sausages. They also sell great sauces from a Suffolk manufacturer. The butcher is about 2 miles from home.

They also stock some S African food. Hayles please note! 

I will put up a link to the butcher's website if there is the interest. I am all for getting fresh local foods. However, I'm not sure whether I can post links under the forum rules. It's not spam as such.

Yesterday we cooked a vegetarian dish a vegetable stew with rice on the side.

It was scrumptious. We used large pieces of sweet potato which tasted like pumpkin.

I was reminded of a recipe called "Man in the Moon" which my mother cooked so well A hollowed out pumpkin shell was filled with softened pumpkin flesh, mince meat and onion, as well as other ingredients. I think she baked the dish. Does anyone have the recipe?

I find folk in the UK are very wasteful at Halloween. They throw away the flesh of the pumpkins.

Never! We use the pumpkin to make soup and chutney! You must know by now Richard that we waste nothing in this household. Anything we don't eat, the chickens, dogs and cats get. Or the horse! He loves bread!
We've had food shop links before and not had a problem!

Yes I certainly do know you go with waste not want not.

The Beckenham sausage shop is at this link ( pun intended ) http://www.englishsausages.com/index.html

We polished off a whole bottle of apple juice from the shop, while enjoying the weather.
