What's new

Food anyone?

I agree kids. Daughter awoke at midnight for some of my leftover chicken curry. Either I am a great cook these days or she is going through a growth spurt. I think the latter. Either way, there went my breakfast.

Went out for sushi last night.
And am now contemplating the negative effects that consuming bad sushi has on one's digestive system.
*hork*
Now where is my Alka-Seltzer?

Mmmmm . . . proper fish n' chips from a proper chippy! So looking forward to this when I come back to the UK at the end of the month. Fish, chips & curry sauce or Hollands steak & kidney pudding, mushy peas and gravy ... heaven on a plate for an expat!
;)

Couldn't agree more. And I only leave the country for at most 16-18 days at a time. Love fish & chips with mushy peas.

Isn't that meant to follow the dog....when you have young kids, this doesn't happen too often, especially when the wife is currently away.

Hubby in freezing oz at present,
So have made chicken soup!
Good old hearty chicken soup with lots of veg and roast chicken.
It's a token effort to say I am feeling for him in the cold!!!
Will add a touch of chopped coriander just to jazz it up,
It's 30 degrees here!

Okay, I'm back! I've had an eventful few days, I can tell you!

Thursday was my 21st anniversary to my hubby! A David Austen Darcy Bussell deep red Rose bush(absolutely beautiful and highly scented!) and of course my iPhone 4! We have had visitors from up north so couldn't get iPad out! Banned!

Then on Friday I fell down the steps of the school bus, full of students, probably hilarious for them but extremely painful for me. I felt every metal edged step going down and landed on my bottom on the tarmac!
I had to have first aid, cold packs and now I'm in bed in agony! I have bruises on my shoulder blades, across my back and backbone and across my hips. Not a happy bunny.

Oh, and I had my favourite last night - lasagne with garlic bread!

Sorry to hear about your fall, i agree these kids can be very annoying, you should see the school kids in hammersmith station after work, had the police been not there it would been mayhem and a no go area. Very threating and old people feel very vunerable when thesempests are around 

We are lucky here in the country. The kids are fairly harmless. The normal bullies and victims, drugs, alcohol etc...are fairly low key.

Our dinner was interesting last night. We made spaghetti (brown variety) with mince and veg - to use up veg. To make up the quantity of sauce we added part of a jar of chilli con carne. Just enough to sort out quantities in the pan. The chilli was mild, and there weren't too many red beans.  

I loved the interesting taste, although my wife had here doubts. We think the left overs will taste very nice reheated today. 

Where is everyone?

Right, we have just enjoyed a three malts with sunflower sourdough bread. Delicious.  

I note that Shipton Mills produce the flour. Does hubby get his supplies from this mill Hayles? 

The mill reminds me of the Weald and Downland Museum's working watermill. You can buy flour from there. Follow this link http://www.wealddown.co.uk/Buildings/Watermill-from-Lurgashall

I enjoyed the museum and the insights into a bygone rural era. Perhaps it provides food for thought. 

Well, I was at a year 5 parents evening! Meeting potential secondary students before parents decide what school they are sending them. I had game pie with vegetables last night!
Any suggestions for tonight?

Is game pie a dish you make with students ? Cannibalism ? I'm confused.
