What's new

Food anyone?

No! Hubby brought it home from bakery. It's a trial pie! Lovely! Still haven't decided what to eat tonight.

Nothing beats a good pie.
Especially in cooler weather.
I have been know to make a fish  pie here in the tropics.
Well it's more a roll.
Use a sheet of shop bought puff pastry.
In a big generous sausage shape place ,a mix of mashed potatoes, flaked barely cooked fish, spring onions, chopped tomatoes and heaps of salt and pepper
Add coriander at a booster if you have it .
Roll up and slash the top.
Leave ends open
Bake for about 20mins till pastry is golden crisp.
Slice into generous size portions
Serve with salad and a delicious chutney of your choice

Nice recipe Julie. We'll give it a try, but using chicken or thinly sliced meat. I love fish, unlike my wife who doesn't like the lingering smell. That means I cannot enjoy smoked haddock or kippers at home. 

We enjoyed wild boar sausages in ciabatta bread with gherkin slices at the Borough Market today. Delicious   
The Market was quiet for a Saturday, thanks to the rain. 

Hubby's market was quiet as well but Sherborne is a beautiful town so no hardship. Rained though. Great recipe Julie. I let hubby have kippers or haddock when he wants it because he hates melted cheese and puts up with that for me so its only fair.

Went out for a well deserved night out.
Crab and corn soup
Garlic butter prawns and steamed veg
Salt and pepper pork chop.
Yes it was Chinese.
No washing up
Great

Sate beef skewers for starters, with chopped pineapple and vietnamese mint.
Malaysian laksa curry drizzle on roasted chicken .with bok Choy and steamed rice.
Poached pears with ginger syrup
That's tonight's dinner menu

We had home made lasagne. With chilli, leeks, celery, lots of onion and mince meat and mixed common veg.

All washed down with White wine.

For afters chocolate ice cream and banana.

But you can keep the yoghurt.
I'll-have an extra glass of wine 

Make that two glasses!

I'm just munching my way through some cheese and (English) mustard rolls in my office in Woolwich "home of the drive-by shooting"

Has Peggy Middleton House gone yet, Gabriel? The last time I saw it (a year ago) it looked very sad with tall weeds in the paved areas.

I do like the Arsenal site. The blend of new and old buildings is interesting, as are the museums and the riverside walk.

I must post some pics on the Architecture thread. That thread is as neglected as Peggy Middleton House!

Where is Peegy Middleton House (didn't she marry prince William?), I'll have a look if it's nearby.
