Gardening!

My mum used to grow Cycads in SA. Different countries, different weather. Yes, I wish you could all smell the roses.

I would have loved to have seen your mum's cycads Hayles. Do you happen to have any photos? They are a totally different variety over there, quite vicious fronds actually and are very spiky. I have a few and they are rare here especially after they stopped allowing them to be imported. They grow quite large and I have seen one which would easily fill a good sized room. It was humongous!!

Here's a few of my African ones.

Afraid not Leelai. I was a tad younger then and plants were not very interesting then. Horses and having a boyfriend were higher on my list. And yes, in that order! Priorities! I don't get to see my mum that often.

Understand that completely, I remember being the same, not about horses though! :)

Aww! I love horses. They love you no matter what. Especially when you arrive with a juicy apple or carrot! Lol

I love gardening! I have a bunch of vegetables and what not. Been getting a lot of to apples, tomatoes, jalapeños, and corn. I'm still waiting on my Habanero plant to start giving peppers.. It's green and looking healthy but nothing. I guess it just needs more time.

Yesterday, we went off to the garden centre for coffee, and some retail therapy! All my treat :)

This variety of Impatiens is my favourite.
Omg lasting and with great showy leaves.

That is neat. Mine is just starting to take shape.

Those impatiens are so big Richard! I've never seen them before, ours have quite small flowers

Beautiful lush grass too!

Thanks Quake and Leelai.

The Guinean Impatiens always last for a long time and grow pretty large.

All of that rain has certainly done our lawns some good. :)

Just remembered. Here are the window boxes I made last year. They actually have some flowers in them now.
