That's my wife's doing. I can't grow weeds. She's the gardener.

I know the feeling, Kevin

How about us enjoying a BBQ when it's ready, watching the gardeners at work? ;)

Works for me. I cook a mean steak. Alberta beef is the best in the world.

Kevin, those boxes are great, you are very clever! And what a wonderful show of flowers, your wife has the proverbial green thumb!

The foxes are around more these days. Mum is showing her cubs around our garden, along with escape routes.

This is despite my erecting mesh fences etc to block off access.

Last weekend, a niece was staying with us. The fox cub appeared outside of the conservatory, much to her delight and cries of "Un Zorro".

Then, on Monday when niece 2 was visiting us, the fox cub was spotted on the garden. Wife and I chased after it. I glimpsed the mother jump a wall to escape. The cub tried to follow but couldn't jump high enough, so trapped. I chased it and discovered escape routes it knew, but all blocked. My wife appeared brandishing a broom. Hilarious :D. I told her to be careful as a cornered fox will attack.

It managed to jump the wall after some attempts. I've now added a metal screen to raise the wall.

Here's a photo taken by our niece on her Blackberry.

Wow...I didn't realize that fox is so prevalent in England! We have red fox here..never seen any in our yard though. We do have plenty on our land though, pretty animals, but wouldn't want to get near one for sure.

Richard, your garden looks absolutely inviting! Everything is so manicured! Mine right now needs some tending too very soon!

Here is a pic of a Bee feeding on my Echinacea...

I love your echinacea. Beautiful. I'm afraid mine is a bit more wild especially after all that rain. The bindweed is having a field day with my flowers. I don't see foxes in my garden only when they feel pecking and try to get my girls(chickens/ducks)

We been getting hit with quite a bit of rain here...so it is really weighing down all the flowers. Mine will look like a mess when it is all over. Was trying to take a pic of a Monarch butterfly last night, but it wouldn't land and stay long enough for me to grab the camera.

Love this time of year. Bobbi

Oh so do I. My roses still look good. It's just a case of watching out for the frosts to arrive and put the plants in the greenhouse for protection.

If it can't make it out side I just don't grow it. Might change my mind if I had a greenhouse but I don't know. I'm not too good at caring for my houseplants. not time for frost here in the center of new jersey but my roses are not putting out as big a burst as usual. I think summer was too dry.

Oh goodness, I couldn't live without my pelargoniums, lavender etc... They don't like frost! Someone gave us there greenhouse years ago and we are using that. We do have another one but that is still waiting for hubby to find space(difficult due to fight with his veg) and time(also difficult due to money vs job, money wins every time)
