Ok well, not quite. I have a generation 1 received the 1st day the 3G model was released. I grew it with a father who was one of the first persons to graduate college with a computer science degree, a brother who builds very complex robots. We got our apple IIe in 1984 and was lucky enough to have a household running both apples and PCs so I grew up with an understanding of both operating systems. When the first imac came on the market, I bought one and told everyone Apple was here to stay, in a whole new way. Would you believe most people thought I was full of false hopes and a love of a still dying product, lol? I begrudgingly took on another PC for law school, and not a cheap one. What a mistake, it lasted 2.5 years during which time it crashed entirely 3 times, the screen broke, and it was worthless after the end of that time. I swore off PCs for good with the exception of my work machine, and even that I avoided. Since then I bought a newer iMac, now 8 years old and still running, a six year old and 3 year MacBooks.
When they announced the IPad, I knew it was exactly what I needed for work and wanted for play. And though I imagined a huge number of uses I anticipated, I never would imagine that it would essentially replace my blackberry, books, my iPod, newspapers, music, and even my TV for the most part! And on top of that, did these things better. I only regret that I don't have a camera. But I approximate that I have used it around 2000 hours at this point which in my mind is remarkable. I have turned friend after friend into an Apple lover! So that's me. Musician, lawyer, activist, Ipad lover!
Been reading these forums for about 2 years it seems, just haven't decided to branch out to contributing until now.
Thanks!
