What's new

If you are new, please post an introduction thread.

Hi there to everyone and welcome.

@CHR7S, you might want to post about your requirements in the "iPad General Discussions" section of the forum, there are plenty of useful apps but it'll be easier to follow if you keep it in a separate thread.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, etc. and iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the forum rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store and a great tutorial/guide for using the IPF App here http://www.ipadforums.net/new-membe...sistance/107524-ipad-forums-app-tutorial.html

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/ and here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for iOS 4, 5, 6, etc. the guide for iOS 7 is here https://itunes.apple.com/gb/book/ipad-user-guide-for-ios-7/id709634245?mt=11

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/ and for iPhone users, come and join in the discussion over at http://www.iphoneforums.net

hi I am a new forum member who has had my ipad2 for nearly 2 years now and have been a strong advocate of the technology and it's potential where I live and work in London. I work for a very large organisation.

I have found many uses for the ipad including pages and numbers, apps which cater for my hobbies ( eg astronomy, sport - especially footie, cycling and the Olympics for which the ipad was tremendous), news (I subscribe to a number of apps such as financial times and guardian), magazines (Economist has been great. Ask astronomy now magazine). I use it to watch tv and have now linked to Apple TV which is great.

I upgrade with a PC based itunes, which was previously loaded with my music to use with an iPod (early one I think 'classic')

At the moment my mobile is not an apple but I am thinking of switching to an iPhone when I upgrade.

On the problems side there have been a number of frustrations. Biggest amongst them has been the upgrades (I have already posted my issues with the iOS 7 upgrade). I have a number of friends who have been thinking of getting an ipad. Some have but others are still waiting.

Their main concern is that this is new technology which is very fluid. Prices will fall and improvements be made and they don't want to spend a lot of money on something which won't last very long.

From my experience I have to say this is a very real dilemma. Key to addressing it and winning consumer confidence (and hence more business) for apple is to make the upgrade experience for existing appliances more seamless to send a signal that apple care about whether they are selling equipment which lasts.

Thanks J.A. :)
I spend a little time just to "overfly" this forum. Very very good one. I am just sorry about that i found it now, and not years ago... :)

Just another iPad user here. I've got the iPad 3 right now. It would take some impressive new features and faster hardware to entice me to upgrade. I'm pretty happy with my device. Not too crazy about the latest OS though, but it's bearable. Between my 3ds, my bicycle, my ps3 and this iPad, I'm pretty well entertained. :)
