Howdy, I'm Tania. I live in LA & the SF Bay area. I was gifted an iPad for my birthday this past November and I Wub it! I primarily wanted it because I'm a visual artist and I can use it as a Portfolio. I'm now learning more about apps and capabilities and that's what led me to this forum. (it came up when I was searching best password mgmt apps). I'm happy to be here and I look forward to mining the boards for lots of juicy info.

Hello iPad forum - VLC media player

I just recently received this iPad during our Christmas party. Everyone got one.

I already had the iPhone2g & iPod64gb now this. It works rather smoothly.

I was a little concerned about watching videos.
I've always watch movies on my laptop with VLC media player. Now it's on the iPad. I highly recommend getting it for your iPad. Only drawback but a big one right now is that it doesn't handle hi-rez movies. Hopefully that's a fix later.

Hi I received an ipad for xmas and have no idea what to do with it.I got as far as installing the updated version of itunes but when I try to do anything the ipad says I am not connected to the internet.I can not get to the manual please help!!

I am a pro-AV consultant and designer, and use my iPad as a presentation device and as a means of not having to carry blueprints to meetings with architects and contractors.

I joined the group to look for and discuss options for rack-mounting and wall-mounting iPads for professional installation applications. I have seen several products out there, but wanted to see whether this group was discussing any options I'm not aware of.

Hi, I'm moparherb and I live in Central NY. I have had my iPad for about 2 months and I love it. I'm retired from the automotive industry and I do most all of the shopping for my wife and I. One of the best uses for my iPad, besides Internet surfing, is grocery shopping. I make my list on the iPad and take it with me to the store. Hope to learn a lot from this forum.

hithouse here, I'm a professor and researcher at a university in Canada. I originally bought my iPad for research purposes, and am continuing to develop a pan-Canadian network of research sites that all use iPads for wireless data entry (10 so far, to be growing again soon). I have to admit that I did not like the iPad at first, felt (and probably still do to a certain extent) that it was too expensive for what it is. But I have to admit I've grown to really like it. Not love it, but really like it. I am a bit of a technophile, use all sorts of devices including pc, android, blackberry and iOS in different capacities. Looking forward to becoming an active member of the community and also getting answers to some of my own questions. Talk to you all soon.

Hello, like many others, I received a new iPad for Christmas. While I have downloaded (and experimented with) a number of apps and have even managed to tether the iPad to my Omnia i910, I still look forward to learning to utilize all of its capabilities. Happy New Years everyone!
