If you have a WiFi + cellular iPad, the star chart automatically aligns with the night sky when you hold the iPad up to the sky. With WiFi only iPads, there is a feature that works with the iPad camera to help line up the chart with the actual night sky.
I know. I have two or three of these on my iPad, each one with other abilities. But they don't provide pictures.
With the Star Walk app, the iPad camera superimposes a live view of the night sky on the star chart in the app, enabling you to line the chart up with the actual night sky.
Very useful! I'll have to try it at night. Now it's 7:50 AM. :-( Have to wait.
