Inbox subfolders

Hi everyone,
Have just joined the forum and have a questions regarding inbox subfolders. How do I set them up. I went to the Apple store and the person there told me that because I was with Bigpond you can't create subfolders in the mail accounts, is this correct. Do I have to scroll all emails?

I am with Bigpond also and yes we just have to scroll through them, I use my Mac for email so not a big bother for me. You can create a gmail account if you wish and I've heard this has folders.
