IOS6 update to iPad2

I haven't been an iPad owner or user of Apple products very long but I'm happy with the upgrade to the new IO6. I've owned my iPad2 for a few months now and it seems to operate smoother and quicker since the upgrade. Hands down I'm quite happy but I'm also very new to all of this Apple stuff so I might not realize what I was or am missing.

I have no idea what could have happened to Safari, but it is now amazingly fast. I downloaded the 13Mb PDF iOS6 manual for iPhone in a few seconds.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to that download for the IO6 manual would ya?

Hey,

After upgrading to iOS 6 i've got a couple of issues. The main is the performance of the maps app. It's extremely laggy when viewing it in 3D. The cities that are fully rendered like New York and London, are choppy as hell. And it looks quite bad actually, the textures are extremely low quality and the polygon count is even worse. Does everyone experience this? Is this a limitation of the iPad 2? And generally everything seems slower and choppier. But then again, my ipad was quite choppy even before the upgrade, maybe i should take it to the store?

3 rd try. I am having same trouble connecting to cellular since upgrading to 6. Keeps telling me I don't have a provider...

There is no way to go back to the older version. However, you seem to have the solution right there in front of you. Why don't you just swap iPads? You will benefit when you get your Mac, since the integration between the two machines will be more complete.

In the meantime, if your wife will let you anywhere near her iPad again, you could download Jasmine for her and, I think (if memory serves me OK) iSwifter, which will give her street view back in Google Maps.

Personally, I find street view to be just as much of a toy as flyover, but that's just opinion. No doubt, some people find it useful.

Sorry, the signing window for iOS 5.1.1 closed 48 hours after iOS 6 was released. There is currently no way to downgrade iOS 6 to iOS 5.1.1. Tere is a YouTube app in the App Store, an iPhone app that works on the iPad as well, as well as an iPad specific app that is currently in development. Google also has a maps app that will be available in the App Store as soon as it's ready.

Fixed

I took my iPad to the local Apple Shop. It was looked at by a "techie" who found the problem and fixed it - some setting was the problem. So no despair.
