Yes - I've survived - but heard nothing from Marie and the iPF BBQ. I suspect that California slid into the Pacific....

Wey hey. Tim lives. This island is so small the disaster thought why bother. Now California....you can't miss that. Lets see who has made it.

Got an email yesterday about how rare this year is.

This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens
once every 823 years.

This year we're going to experience four unusual dates.

1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 and that's not all...

Take the last two digits of the year in which you were born - now add
the age you will be this year,

The results will be 111 or 11 for everyone in whole world.

How awesome is that. It is all true also, the geek in me checked it out.

Anyone been to the Apple store yet today. If so, any deals or freebies on the 10th anniversary.

Nope, but 66+45=111. Yup, you are right it works.

Wow, does that mean more money in my pay check? I need to check!

My family are astounded. Yeah, you are right!

Hayley!! You are a science teacher, too!! Do the math.....

(but it could be cool to tell the kids at school!)

My age = x
Last two digits of the year I was born = y

This year = 2011

So my age is either 2011 - (1900+y) = x
i.e. x+y=111

or my age is 2011 - (2000+y) = x
i.e. x+y=11

However, there are probably just a few people in the world this doesn't work for.....

If I was born in 1899 -= i.e I'm 112 years old....

So my age is 2011 - (1800+y) = x
i.e x+y=211

A heavy post for the 1001st on this thread.
Hayles you could say that the last 2 numbers will be 11. That covers the problem.

Oh, heck thanks Tim, thank god the teachers at school aren't on here! They love winding me up, I'm easy to do, naive that's me! Okay, who was born in 1899! Come on out with it!

Wow, my families oldest resident was 97, I wonder if I live that long and if I'll have an iPad? Sorry guys, I'll never give in and I'll never surrender!
