Just learned that I have been played like a fiddle by the master. My wife bought a 27 inch mac in Kuwait, despite my absolute dislike for the product. Knew it would happen someday, but I did think it would follow a night of passionate grovelling. Don't know what hurts more, the lost night, or the fact that my technological wizardry, which was all I had to offer in this marriage is no longer required. 

By the way, she did this 2 weeks ago.....the lying about purchases stopped hurting a long time ago, it took a while, but the numbness did eventually set in, (sorry, I meant to say that the cure eventually took hold).

Did your wife buy the mac with her own money or yours? Btw is the mac more or less expensive in kuwait, when i was in dubai and abu dhabi, i remember electronics are better value then here

Talking about price savings, I found that cameras costing, say, £560 in the UK cost 560CD in Canada. This ratio was the same across the full price range. I think it applied to electronics also.

I know what you mean, many years ago when i was in germany the prices was the same, what was £100 here was 100 deutsche mark in germany, but at that time £1 = 3dm, so the cost was 3 times less, and this was for almost everything and not things like cigerettes. Had UK been a left hand drive country like america, the german car dealers here would have been stuffed as people would get the cars from germany directly. Saying that all this is irrelevant now thanks to the € euro which have made everything especially holidaying in places like spain very expensive.

I fully agree with you, Good Karma. Retailers took the opportunity to fleece us when the € replaced local currencies. We were aware of that in Barcelona a few years ago. The same happened in the UK when Sterling was decimalised.

Nice to see you Karma! Great to see friends on here! I'm watching the riots all round the country and I'm simply astonished at the lawlessness of kids in this country. We had 2 years compulsory army in my country.

Yes it's terrible. There a couple of old forts out in the Thames Estuary a mile or so off shore. Good places to cool the little blighters off, ith bred and water.

We need National Service.
