Well now it really has to be official! 9to5 Mac reports today that iPad 3 cases have started appearing online. The cases are made by Chinee of China, which is stating that they are for a device called the iPad 2S. If this really is the new iPad’s name, then that would denote an iPhone 4S style update rather than a redesign, although according to many of the recent, well-substantiated rumours, the update will be significant, with a much improved display, battery, and camera. It has been said though, that there will be little change to the look of the iPad other than that it will be slightly thicker, to accommodate some of the new features, and Chinee’s cases back that up, as they are designed to fit an iPad that is 1MM thicker than the iPad 2. According to Chinee, it has received information on the new iPad’s vital statistics from sources in Apple’s supply chain.
