Alright so i was wondering, now that an external hard drive can be connected to and ipad via the ipad camera connection kit and a little bit of terminal use i was thinking that maybe a new ipod.app could be developed. The main difference would be that the new app could "watch" a folder and update the library as music files are added or removed from the folder. In my opinion this would be a good idea because you could then use an external hard drive as added storage and be able to use a user friendly app that has a nice GUI. This feature is included in many mediaplayer applications on pcs so it should be able to be done with an ipad, especially since you can use ifile to manipulate your directories easily on your ipad. It would also get rid of syncing your ipad. You could download a song from the internet and automatically add it to your library without syncing. Anyone else think this would be a good idea?
