Apple announced today that the iPhone 5, Wi-Fi-only fourth-gen iPad and iPad mini will all be released in China in December, on December 7th for the two iPads, and December 14 for the iPhone 5. Reporting on the news, Engadget says that customers in China can reserve their chosen device on the day before each of them launches. No announcements have been made so far as regards which carrier will be offering the devices, but as Engadget notes, it will most likely be China Unicom and China Telecom, and it’s expected that they will be announcing this fact soon. As AllThings D’s John Paczkowski notes, Apple has been doing various things to help it make further inroads into the Japanese market, including adding Chinese search engine Baidu to Safari, and support for the the massively popular microblogging site, Sina Weibo, among other things. In its press release announcing these new launch dates, Apple reminds us that the iPad mini and fourth-gen iPad are now available in a total of 47 countries all told, including the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and the UK.
