Jailbreak?!

Ok, I got an iPad, but I have some questions about this "jailbreaking".
What is jailbreaking?
What does it look like when your iPad is jail broken?
How do you jail break your iPad?
Is it good or bad for your iPad?
Are you supposed to be able to jailbreak your iPad?

We have a search function in this forum - and tons of threads that answer all these very basic questions.

From there, take a look at the many stickies in the Hacking section and its sub-forums. As far as appearance of a jailbroke iPad, we have many threads running in the Hacking section that cover various theming tweaks.

Please spend some time in these forums before asking very broad questions. Chances are, they've been asked and answered.
