I’ve moved the first post of this thread to it’s own thread and made it a sticky:

I wasn’t having problems, but for those that were this seems workable.

iOS - 10.3.3 (for iPad 4, iPad mini 1)

My wife's original Mini says it's up to date with 9.3.5. FYI.

Apple released iOS 11.2.2 with a security update. It‘s recommended for all users.
There’s also a supplemental update for devices running macOS 10.13.2.

It’s a security update to mitigate the effects of the Spectre security fault in the CPU.
