With the launch of the fifth generation iPad, Apple is expected to follow the set trend and offer a tablet that features a thinner look. Now, a new leaked picture that supposedly showcases a white next generation iPad seems to confirm the theory. The photo has been posted on the French site NoWhereElse.
By looking at the picture, one can notice the significant thinner side bezels which are reminiscent of the iPad mini. If this photo is accurate, it would mean that theories predicting a similar iPad mini design for the next generation 9-inch iPad might turn out to be true. Another difference is spotted at the edges – as they seem to look more rounded, not tapered. The tablet is also expected to sport a new A6X processor and maybe some upgraded camera specs.
With the amount of speculation going on around the release date and launch of the iPad 5, the image must be taken with a healthy degree of doubt. As we well know, Apple likes to keep this kind of details to itself until the big day comes.
The most recent report, coming via DigiTimes this week, stated that the next generation iPad will be on its way to production starting somewhere in July/August. This places the launch at a later date, somewhere towards the end of the year, maybe? A similar report from iMore claims that on the contrary, the iPad 5 will see the light of day somewhere around April, but we’re almost half way through the month, so this scenario doesn’t seem possible. We’ll just have to wait and see.
