Locked-up IPAD

Good day to all, need help with my IPAD problem. My iPad locked-up and I had to press the home button and the power button together in order to restart it. After doing that, the iPad will not boot past the screen with the Apple logo. By the way my ipad is jailbroken. Does it have an effect on the problem? Hope to here some possible solutions soon. Thanks.

4.2.1 jailbreak - your jailbreak is tethered most likely reboot like you first had it jailbroken.

You're right, my jailbreak is tethered as the one who did the jailbreak explained to me and my OS is 4.2. The problem is, i was not the one who made the reboot after jailbreaking it so i dont know the proper way of rebooting it. I'm trying to restore it using itunes but it cant finish the process. Please help. Thanks a lot.
