Help please

Question: I put $100,000 total into purchasing and upgrading an oil derek. It gives me $25,000 every three hours.
I look at the second "best" most expensive money building which is unlocked at level 40 and costs an insane $8,000,000 to bring in a "whopping" $25,000 every three hours.
This doesn't make any sense to me. I would never pay 80x something for the same income. If someone can help me that would be great. Thanks
