Ina Fried on All Things D writes today that the iPad continues to thrive in the enterprise, with new figures from an NPD survey revealing that nearly three-quarters of small businesses intend to buy a tablet in 2012, with the iPad being at the top of their list. To break the figures down a little, the percentage of smaller businesses, i.e. those with less than 50 employees, intending to buy a tablet is 53 percent, in comparison with 73 percent of all businesses with under 1,000 employees. NPD says that the latter figure represents an increase of five percent from the previous quarter. The survey also found that those small businesses who took part in the survey on average intended to spend around $21,000 on tablets in the next year, with the bigger firms obviously planningto spend more as a rule.
