What's new

My commodore setup, post your retro setups!!!!!

I think the toggle switch on the disk drive was so you could use both sides of a floppy disk without cutting a notch in the cover.

That's one thing I had forgotten, but now I remember installing the switch.

I forgot about that too! I remember there was a tool you could buy to accomplish this, but I always did it with scissors.

Hence the toggle switch. It knocked out the write protect sensor.

And now I come to think about it, one of my 1541s had two switches; the afore-mentioned write protect killer, and a device number switch, for switching from device 8 to 9 and back. Every 64 I owned ended up with the obligatory reset switch, of course.

Now I'm intrigued. A C64 without a reset switch. What do you use instead?

I use the power switch as my reset switch, and I was sorting through my tape games and I found some really cool ones, if the iPF app allowed videos I would demonstrate my C64

My Commodore 64

I wish I still had my old Vic20, c64, or my sinclair 1000
I'd love to show them to my kids.
How many hours/days did you spend typing in code from a magazine? Anyone remember an AI program called "Eliza"?

I saw Eliza running on a Sharp MZ80K.
