On-screen keyboard can't be dismissed

Hi! I've run into a problem in that I've got a new Jetech bluetooth keyboard, but when it's connected, the on-screen keyboard comes up any time the cursor is put into a box requiring typing, and it cannot be dismissed. Hitting F3 does nothing, and even hitting the "hide keyboard" button on the on-screen keyboard itself does nothing. I restarted the iPad (iPad 2) without the keyboard being connected, and the on-screen keyboard behaved correctly. As soon as I connected the bluetooth keyboard, however, the bug appeared and the on-screen keyboard is just there, eating up the bottom half of my screen for no good reason.

So, not only does connecting my bluetooth keyboard NOT prevent the on-screen keyboard from popping up like it's supposed to, but it actually makes it totally persistent. Help?

Have you tried unpairing, then pairing the Bluetooth keyboard? It sounds like it's not properly paired.

Yes. It turned out that the problem was that I was using a 3rd party keyboard app (tried it with both Swype and SwiftKey), and they have a different mapping for the F3. When I switched back to the iPad default keyboard, it worked fine.

Thanks for letting us know what caused your problem. Your solution to switch back to the default keyboard may help others with the same problem.
