December 31, 1720; Charles Edward Stuart is born. Otherwise known as Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Yes scifan he was, and my ancestors joined him (after he grew up of course) against the English. They (we) lost everything, our lands, castle, everything, but still I am proud to be of the clan Keith. Veritas Vincit.

January 1, 45 B.C.; New Year's Day is celebrated on January 1st for the first time in history as the Julian calendar takes effect. The calendar was designed by Julius Caesar who also named the seventh month, July, after himself.

I have some of the coinage in my collection, including the only 20 cent piece ever minted for Canada. It was minted only in 1858.

On this day in 1956, a baby girl was born in Oranjestad on the island of Aruba. Right now she is sitting about 5 feet from me...my wife. ;)
