Ooops!

Hello,
With the arrival of OS5 I went to update my wife's ipad2. Unfortunately, I erased her itunes of my mac and my time machine doesn't go back that far. The system prompts me to erase the ipad and sync with my itunes. Is there a way I can keep her apps and other data somewhere else?

Apps are not a problem, because they can always be reloaded without charge.

But why can't you simply backup your iPad on the Mac? Then update to iOS5 and restore.
