E-book subscription startup Oyster, called the “Netflix for ebooks†has launched on the iPad, after previously being available only for iPhone users. The service was launched earlier this month on an invite-only model, but now it has been made available for all iPad and iPhone users, according to GigaOm.
An Oyster subscription costs $9.95 a month which will grant you unlimited access to a library of more than 100,000 book titles where you could find such popular titles as Lord of the Rings, Shutter Island or Water for Elephants. At the moment Oyster has a deal with only one major publisher, HarperCollins, but they will definitely increase the amount of books in their library.
If you’re not sure you’re willing to pay ten dollars every month to use Oyster, you can use the 30-day free trial to see how it goes.
