PKGbackup restore to 5.0.1 question

My Ipad 2 32GB wifi is currently on 5.0.1 but was previously 4.3.3 jailbroken. I used pkgbackup to backup my cydia apps and tweaks. If I jailbreak using absinthe and reinstall pkgbackup and restore from my dropbox backup, will I have any control over which items are restored in case some of them are not compatible with 5.0.1? For example 5 row keyboard etc?

If I don't have individual item restore, do I run the risk of causing problems with non-compatible apps and tweaks being restored?

Generally speaking, I would not recommend using PKGBackup to restore after a major iOS upgrade (from 4.x to 5.x). It's for the reasons you say - it will try to go in and load all the tweaks and such that have been backed up, even the incompatible or broken ones. Your best bet is to make a list of the tweaks you want, and that work, and then go in and get them individually.

Yeah, it's a pain, but a lot easier in the long run than having a messed up iPad that needs restoring.

Usually, the back up programs are great if you restore to the same firmware or upgrade to a minor change (e.g. 5.0 to 5.0.1).

Hope this clarifies.
