There are few games that seem to amaze me these days, but one in particular has struck me as very intriguing. It probably has to do with its dark, mysterious atmosphere and the fact that it’s almost devoid of colors and musical background. Developed by Danish game maker Playdead, Limbo has quickly grabbed the attention of Indie fans.
And this week we finally get to play Limbo on our iPhones or iPads, as the game has been officially launched on the App Store.
Become immersed in this depressive universe, where you play a boy (?) character struggling to find his way in a bleak universe. Towards what? The gameplay is quite engaging as you can climb, pull, crawl, jump in order to solve puzzles and uncover the path leading you further into the darkness. For those who played the game on PC, the iOS version is pretty similar, but of course few controls have been modified to accommodate the touch screen experience.
Limbo has been originally launched back in 2010 on the Xbox Live Arcade and since then has been warmly received by game critics and gamers alike. From there, it has spread its wings towards the PlayStation 3, Vita, Mac App Store and Steam. Its popularity thus grew, selling more than 3 million copies worldwide.
Gamers interested in the iOS version can get the game in the App Store for $4.99.
