This is Smokey. My australian shepherd mix who will be 11yrs old in december. Had him since he was about 2wks old. He is 10 yrs older than the baby i just gave birth to last year!

Have myself a 10 year old one as well (her name is Peetie)...and, indeed, they are loving animals (with a terrible rep, thanks to a ton of misconception, ignorance, and fear mongering.)

I have to agree wholeheartedly. I have never owned a "pit bull" but I know them to be fine dogs and nothing like the monsters portrayed by the sensationalist lame-stream media. I have, however, owned three male Rotties. Same deal: ignorance and agendas. Mine were all fine gentlemen: sweet, gentle, loving guys that went all mushy over babies and small children.

The "monsters" are the folks that own these fine animals for the wrong reasons and shouldn't.

OK. Stepping off my soapbox now.
