Post your Pet

Nice post Rambler, we have two elderly women in the village here who walk their ferrets on leads everyday, through the centre of the village......I don't think I could stoop low enough to stroke one and I'm not certain that I'd have any fingers left if I did!

they sound like house ferrets mate, probably very safe with fingers!! Always ask first though, because once there jaws clamp......well it takes a brave man to part them again ha ha

We have a neighbour next door who does the exact same thing you do. The only problem is the barking but hey, we have an old dog who barks when left alone so fair is fair. He looks after pheasants for a local farmer.

I train my dogs quite heavily, they know that barking scares the prey so they are fairly quiet most of the time, they bark to get my attention but thankfully not yappers.....thanks to everyone for the kind words.
Hayles you live in Gods Larder, i'd love to try some Wood Pigeon shooting down there.......and then a spot of local cider.......yummy!

Oh yes! My version of apples is toffee apples, pie, sauce. I don't like scrumpy and hubby says it makes him drunk.. The dogs yap when the owners go out so that could be Saturday or Sunday. They have about 10 or 12 dogs. Terriers, spaniels and those hunting dogs. They train the hunting dogs. The spaniels are for pheasant hunts.
I've tried wood pigeon, not bad, but too many bones. Pheasant is nice though but next door has maggots on them. They say it tenderises the meat. Not sure if he's teasing me but you might know whether this is true.

Some people say that game meat should be hung till it's just going off, this helps tenderise it and brings out the flavour.
Myself, I think that that is poppycock, I shoot a pheasant, it is plucked and gutted and entering the cooking stage within 24 hours, I'm a firm believer that fresh is best!

it's horrifying to just read the prior post without going through the rest first, one would think it was your pet, hahaha!

OK so HDChiky and I love Chihuahuas.. lets have a thread of our pets pictures past and present and whatever... show the love!

I'll start with my guys....Tucker is a Giant Chihuahua ( I wonder if there is a registry?) He went over size and is about 9pounds..ooops.. makes him nice and sturdy. Both my guys are long haired chis and I need current pics.. but I'll attach some of what I have. Tucker is the red and white one. He is super super smart and can learn a trick in a few mins. But he's classic little dog psycho. Then there's my Jasper (Jassy). He is a blue merle and with his long hair looks like a little mini aussie (well he has a long tail). He is about 6 pounds and is so funny and very lovable. He can't learn a trick to save his life.. well he can learn it for the moment but can't sit still long enough to perform. Poor guy quivers and wiggles while trying to lay down for a treat its just so hard for him to be still! LOL We call him Scooby cause he's just goofy.

show me yours!

No, I disagree. Pomeranians are the best. My mum bred them when I was a child and I have had 3 since I left home. They are so loving, good guard dogs, easy to carry around etc...
