Problems with email display

I was given an iPad 2 for Christmas and I love it. However, I've noticed that emails are disappearing from my inbox after a day or two. When an email is a couple of days old it disappears from the inbox without me deleting it or moving it. I have gone into Settings and made sure that the "display the last 50 emails" option is ticked. Any ideas anyone?

OK, I'm an idiot... Just sorted out the problem myself by actually going into the account settings and mail days to sync. This was set to 3 days, have now changed it to one month and hey presto, my emails older than three days have appeared!
