Dear All

I just brugt an iPad 3, but I have problems with getting my facebook app working properly. I have to problems: 1) i don't receiver push notifications even though I have my settings set to do so. I do not get these small red notifications on the facebook icon on my homescreen either. 2) I actually get notifications at the Globe button inside the app, but when I tap a notification to get to a specifik comment on at thread, i just get get carried on to the group, in wich the thread appeared - NOT to the actual post and NOT to the relevant comment in the thread. Problem number two is by large the most annoying in that I need to scroll Down to the right post and then on Down to the right comment. I tried to download MyPad App as an alternative app to FB, but it seemes to do the same?

Any thoughts? :)

I can't help you (don't use Facebook on the iPad). Hopefully, someone will come along who can.

I'm just posting to ask you to please - don't make more than one post per topic/issue. Not only do multiple posts fragment the conversation and cause confusion, they're against the forum rules. So, please, keep any discussion on this issue to this thread (I've deleted your other one).

In addition, although this does talk about an app - since you have trouble with it, I'm moving this post over to the Help section, where hopefully, it'll be seen better.

Good luck.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I apologize for asking but do you have both lots of settings activated? 1. Settings - Facebook and have your alerts and notifications set to ON. 2. Settings - Notifications and have Facebook ON here?
I can't test out the notification that appears on the globe as I don't have any right now but I hope someone else will be able to advise on this.

Then try these steps-
Close your app completely. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly

Restart - Press and hold the power off button, the one at the top right. You will see a slide appear to power off, slide this and the screen will go dark and a Whirly will appear. When the Whirly disappears your iPad is now off. Press the power button again until the Apple logo appears, this will take a few seconds and your iPad will restart. You should restart your iPad occasionally also as it will keep it running well. Now see if it is operating.

Reset - Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. This reset will not change anything on your ipad and is akin to rebooting a PC.

Let us know how you go.
