Re-Restoring 5.1.1 to my device - Unable to...

Hi guys, just wanted some help regarding a restore on my iPad 2,1 Wi-Fi model. Basically, I wanted to restore my current 5.1.1 firmware to a clean 5.1.1 firmware. I have the 5.1.1 blobs saved for my device and I am on 5.1.1. Unfortunately, I am unable for the life of me able to put a clean copy of 5.1.1 on. I have tried the Redsn0w restore method and it just fails each time once it gets the blobs.

How can I bypass this to install a clean copy of 5.1.1?

Any help is appreciated :)

Thanks,

You cannot do this at this time. Normally, once Apple has released a new firmware version (iOS 6 in this case), you cannot restore the version that you used to have or do have on the iPad. That's because Apple turns off authorizations and only improves upgrading to the new firmware. So, you can only restore to iOS 6 (a fresh restore to iOS 5.1.1 is out of the question).

However.

The jail breaking community has announced that there will be tools to re-restore an iPad to iOS 5.1.1 IF the iPad has not been upgraded to iOS 6. But - those tools have not been released yet. So, all we can do is wait until the tools are released.

So, hang in there... :)
