AppleInsider writes that it expects Apple to release the Golden Master for iOS 6 in September, just prior to the launch of the next iPhone in the same month. As has already been reported, banners at Apple’s WWDC, which kicks off in a few hours time, indicate that Apple will most definitely be launching iOS 6 at the conference, but that still means that it’s a long way off actually getting into the hands of the public, of course. The prediction of a September launch date comes from KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Elsewhere on AppleInsider there is some possible good news for iPhone 3GS owners, but bad news for original iPad owners, with a report from Chinese website WeiPhone.com saying that leaked links showing devices supported by iOS 6 appear to reveal that the iPhone 3GS is supported, but the original iPad and the third-generation iPod touch is not.
